Hershey’s Tea Cup Tutorial

It’s a tea party and you’re invited. While you won’t want to take a sip from this tea cup, you may want to steal a kiss from it. I just love how this tea cup turned out, complete with a little twirl on the handle. Can’t you just see one of these Hershey’s Tea Cups as favors at a tea-themed party?

I absolutely had to use the tea lace doilies and the Afternoon Picnic Designer Paper to create a saucer for my cup. The handle is made with some scoring, curling and rolling. I like to think of it as the quilling of 3D paper-crafting. Keep scrolling for the tutorial. Find out the supplies you’ll need to make this Hershey’s tea cup and where to get them HERE!

Hershey’s Tea Cup Tutorial

Step One Tea Cup Base

1. Start with a 9″ x 1″ piece of Crushed Curry Card Stock. On the 9″ side, score at the 5/8″, 1-3/4″, 3-3/4″ and 7″ marks.

Step Two

2. Fold the strip inward along all the score lines.

Step Three

3. Put Tombow on the shortest segment.

Step Four

4. Bring the strip together to form a trapezoid.

Step Five Tea Cup Handle

5. Start with a 6″ x 1″ piece of Crushed Curry Card Stock. On the 6″ side, score at the 2″, 4-1/4″ and 4-1/2″ marks.

Step Six

6. Fold the strip along the score lines as shown.

Step Seven

7a. Use your bone folder to curl the second segment from the left from score line to score line.

7b. This is what your strip will look like when you have curled the one segment.

Step Eight

8a. Use a skewer to roll the last segment on the right.

8b. Make sure you roll the card stock tightly.

8c. Keep rolling until you meet the score line.

8d. This is what the the rolled card stock looks like when you’re done.

Step Nine

9. Put Tombow on the small 1/4″ segment next to the rolled card stock segment.

Step Ten

10. Adhere the small segment to the approximate half way mark of the long straight segment.

Step Eleven

11. Here is what the Tea Cup Base and Handle look like before they are adhered together.

Step Twelve

12. Put Tombow all over one of the sides of the tea cup base.

Step Thirteen

13. Adhere the handle to the tea cup base. Make sure that you hold down the pieces to get good adhesion all along the two segments.

Step Fourteen Filler Strips

14. Start with an 11″ x 1″ piece of Crushed Curry Card Stock. On the 11″ side, score at the 1″, 2″, 3″, 4″, 5″, 6″, 7″, 8″, 9″, and 10″ marks.

Step Fifteen

15. Fold the strip into triangles as shown.

Step Sixteen

16. Place the strip into the top of the tea cup.

Step Seventeen

17. Start with a 7″ x 1″ piece of Crushed Curry Card Stock. On the 7″ side, score at the 1″, 2″, 3″, 4″, 5″ and 6″ marks.

Step Eighteen

18. Fold the strip into triangles as shown.

Step Nineteen

19. Place the strip into the bottom of the tea cup.

Step Twenty Chocolate!!

20. Pop eight Hershey’s Kisses into the spaces.

Step Twenty-one Embellishment

21. Stamp a flower from Petite Petals Stamp Set in Crushed Curry Ink on Very Vanilla Card Stock and punch out with the coordinating Petite Petals Punch. Stamp a greeting from the Itty Bitty Banners Stamp Set in Crushed Curry Ink on Very Vanilla Card Stock and cut out with the Big Shot and the coordinating Bitty Banners Framelits Die. Also add a pearl jewel to the flower.

Step Twenty-two

22. Adhere the Greeting and the flower to the top of the tea cup. I used a Dimensional to adhere the flower so it would stand out a little more.

Step Twenty-three

23. Using the Big Shot cut two Crushed Curry Card Stock circles: one using the largest circle (without scallops) and the other using 5th smallest circle from the Circles Framelits Collections. Also cut a circle of Afternoon Picnic Designer Paper with the 4th smallest circle. The Doily is from Tea Lace Doilies (see supply list below).

Step Twenty-four

24. Adhere all the pieces from step twenty-three together from largest to smallest.

Step Twenty-five

25. Tea Time!!

Hi Tina, At the bottom of the tutorial, you will see a green "print PDF" button. If you click on it, it will bring up a document, where you can remove the text and images that you don't need. You might be able to get the tutorial on less pages, by using this.

Hi I love your Hershey’s kisses creations. They are so cute. All of them. I was wondering. It says that most are free with a $15 order. I would like to order item 160763 Legendary Ride Bundle (English) for $50.25. Would I be able to get the Hershey’s flower with gifts boxes and the Hershey’s Kisses Car tutorial with gift box for free?
