Minute Mondays, where I showcase quick cards
Live Happy!! This is such an important message for living your life. Even more important if you are a certain thirteen-year-old-boy coming off of a two week vacation which consisted of a class trip and Spring Break. We must remind ourselves and each other to find happiness everyday and especially on a mundane Monday.
While I was designing this card yesterday, I was reminded about how much fun the simple act of stamping and coloring is. It was easy to finish off the card with “Live Happy”, because that’s exactly what I was. Keep scrolling down if you want some tips on how to make this card. Just a few of tips… I found the center of my card and drew pencil lines to act as a guide to center my design. I used a much larger D block than my stamp called for, because it was easier to see where I was stamping than with a smaller block. I stamped with Black stazon (a waterproof ink) so that my markers wouldn’t cause the image to bleed. Also notice, how I trimmed the excess rubber around my stamp. This allows for more precise placement. You could also use a Stamp-A-Ma-Jig (a stamp positioning tool), but I was able to stamp this pattern without one.
I chose a really simple coloring scheme using only the 2013-2015 In-color markers to color each flower.
I cut apart the stacked “Live Happy” stamp, so that I could stamp the words side by side. Then I added a few Rhinestone jewels to three of the flowers just to add a little sparkle. Live Happy 🙂
