Stamping 101: Card Sizes

If you’re new to stamping you might be wondering: How do stampers decide what size to make their cards? In my video below, I will show you the sizes of cards that I make the most, how to cut and score them, and which envelope to use for them.

At the end of the video, I’ll also show you how to stamp the beautiful butterfly from the Watercolor Wings stamp set. STANDARD CARDS
How to cut: 8-½” x 5-½” piece of card stock. On the long side, score at the 4-¼” mark.
Folded Size: 5-½” x 4-¼” (also called A2)
Envelopes: Medium (white, vanilla, crumb cake, clear)
Uses: All Purpose

NOTE CARDS
How to cut: 7” x 5” piece of card stock. On the long side, score at the 3-½” mark.
Folded Size: 5” x 3-½” (also called A1)
Envelopes: Note cards and Envelopes come packaged together (white, crumb cake). Also can use Envelope Punch Board
Uses: Thank You Cards and All Purpose

MINI CARDS
How to cut: 6” x 3” piece of card stock. On the long side, score at the 3” mark.
Folded Size: 3” x 3”
Envelopes: Square Envelopes in catalog (white only)
Uses: Too small to mail. Small Cards to attach to gifts or flowers

LARGE CARDS
How to cut: 8-½” x 11″ piece of card stock. On the long side, score at the 5-½” mark.
Folded Size: 8-½” x 5-½” (also called A9 or half folds)
Envelopes: use Envelope Punch Board to make
Uses: Group Cards
