Special Reason Pocket Card

Sometimes you need a card that’s just a little special and different. I was inspired to create this design after I saw the Pretty Pocket Card Kits in the Sale-a-bration catalog. I loved the idea of a pocket card with an extra little window in it. I designed the card base, so it would only use a half sheet of card stock. I think you’ll love how this card comes together and I can see this design working with many other stamp sets. If you want to learn how to make it, just watch my 15-minute video above and then you can use my quick reference section below to make your own.

All the supplies you’ll need for this project are available for purchase HERE!

Quick Reference

  • Card Base: Start with an 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ piece of card stock. On the 8-1/2″ side, score at the 4″ and 8″ marks. Turn the card stock so that the skinny scored segment is at the top. Score at the 1/2″ mark. Then at the 4-1/2″ mark, score just until you reach the second scored line.
  • Windows: Use the 4th largest and smallest ovals from the Layering Ovals Framelits to cut windows in the card base.
  • Readying the pocket: Use the diagram below as a guide to cut away the unnecessary pieces from the card base.
  • Designer Series Paper Liner: Before adhering the pocket, line the inside back of the pocket with a 4″ x 5″ piece of designer series paper.
  • Insert: Cut a 3-3/4″ x 4-7/8″ piece of Whisper White card stock for the insert.

Below is another sample using the same pocket card design, but using the Avant Garden Sale-a-bration stamp set. The Avant Garden stamp set, can be earned FREE with a $50* order in my Stampin’ Up Store until March 31st, 2017.
